The Harper government has appointed Bernard Prigent, Vice-President of Pfizer, to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Pfizer is a huge drug company that’s paid billions in fines for legal and ethical violations. CIHR is responsible for publicly funded health care research, which must be based on public interest, not the profit motives of drug companies.
