CEP proudly supports Québec students

GATINEAU, QC (April 16, 2012) -- CEP Secretary-Treasurer Gaétan Ménard joined the student protest today at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. "They've held strong for weeks and we in the union movement are very proud to support them," said Ménard. Hundreds of thousands of students have been protesting across the province over the past months to oppose the government's plan to raise tuition fees by 75 per cent during the next five years. "A university or college education has replaced a high-school diploma and is the basic requirement for most jobs," says Ménard. "By making it unaffordable, the government is jeopardizing the future of every one of us."
