National Women’s Committee

CEP Women RallyAt CEP, we believe that ensuring the full participation of women at every level and in every sphere of society is the only way to attain an equal society. The women of our union have always contributed to shaping the fight for greater equality and fairness on many fronts: in our union, in our workplaces and in our world.

Working women have fought many battles over the years, some that are still ongoing: higher wages, more paid holidays, childcare subsidies and workplace childcare, better job security, protection against discrimination and harassment, paid leave for family responsibilities, pay equity, pension benefits, healthier workplaces and much more.

The role of the National Women's Committee of CEP is to increase visibility of women in the union, locally, regionally and nationally. It is also to promote education, training and leadership development on issues affecting women in the union.

Information for the 2013 Women's conference is available here.
