CEP National Executive Board welcomes international guests
OTTAWA (July 10, 2012) – CEP National President Dave Coles (left) and Secretary-Treasurer Gaétan Ménard (right) appear with guests Clarence Mugari and James Gondo. James Gondo is the National Education and Organizing Officer of the Communications and Allied Services Workers union of Zimbabwe having worked for the Zimbabwe Posts and Telecommunications Service. Clarence Mugari is the National Organizing Officer of the Zimbabwe Graphical Workers Union.
The guests presented to the CEP's National Executive Board today as part of a project to build trade union strength in Zimbabwe. They discussed the current context and challenges facing unions in Zimbabwe where there has been repression directed at trade unions and other social justice organizations. Clarence and James highlighted the need for international solidarity in the fight to defend the interest of working people around the world and thanked the CEP for its solidarity.
