OTTAWA -- Over 100 CEP and CAW members attended joint regional meeting that took place on Tuesday, April 30 in Ottawa. CEP Secretary-Trasurer Gaétan Ménard and CAW Secretary-Treasurer Peter Kennedy as well as staff representatives from both unions updated members on the creation of the new union.

WINNIPEG – A group of 400 people attended a rally at the Manitoba Legislature in support of Idle No More on Monday, January 28. CEP members participated in the action that was also held as part of the national Common Causes day of action. Singer Buffy Sainte-Marie spoke and sang to the crowd and a massive line dance took place. CEP members later attended the 25 year celebration of the Morgentaler decision held at the Women's Health Clinic in Winnipeg.

FORT ERIE - Ex-employees of Vertis were out on a picket line today, Friday, January 25. The Vertis printing plant shut down last week without respecting its obligations to about 100 workers, members of CEP Local 425G. Many of them have been working for the company for decades and are left without severance pay. Read more

VANCOUVER – CEP members marched to support public sector workers on Wednesday November 28. The members were attending the British Columbia Federation of Labour Convention happening in Vancouver and delegates rallied in a show of support from affiliates to get better deal for these workers.
