On June 3 Unifor Local 112 Toromont-Concord members ratified a new three-year collective agreement with Toromont LTD.

“Congratulations to the members and the Toromont-Concord bargaining committee in securing the women's advocate program in your workplace,” said Jerry Dias, National President. “At the bargaining table we fight for fairness and equity issues, and, by securing this program, our union is continuing to bring social justice supports to the workplace. Negotiating supports for survivors of domestic violence is just one way that Unifor is creating a safe space for women in the workplace.”

The new contract includes annual wage increases, lump sums payments for warehouse workers, an increase in benefits for work boots, orthodontic and vision care, and a meal allowance. The bargaining team also secured a financial commitment from the employer to contribute to the Unifor Social Justice Fund.

“The bargaining committee did an excellent job pushing back on the employer's initial proposals that sought rollbacks and cuts," said Scott Mcllmoyle, Unifor Ontario Regional Council Chairperson and President of Local 112. "I am proud of the skill and determination of the union's committee that in the end made gains for Unifor members."

Unifor Local 112 Toromont-Concord represents 250 skilled trades and production workers at Toromont CAT.
